Outing Jesus
“The campaign to have U.S. Protestant churches accept homosexuals has taken a radical new turn with a Chicago scholar’s claim that Jesus not only approved same-sex relationships, but also was involved in one… As Jennings imagines it, this disciple was ‘lying in [on] Jesus’ lap — that is, snuggled up to Jesus.’ Jesus ‘loved’ all his colleagues, but Jennings thinks this one friendship was ‘expressed by physical and personal intimacy — what we might today suppose to be a homoerotic or a ‘gay’ relationship.’ Most likely it was ’sexual in character,’ he says, though the Bible doesn’t describe the ’specific practices’ the pair used to ‘celebrate’ physical intimacy.” — Chicago Sun-Times (US)
Scholars have mostly scoffed at this latest attempt to out Jesus, saying that its author mistakes ancient customs of friendship for modern suggestions of homosexuality. That’s probably true, and no doubt this is simply a case of wishful thinking. “Why can’t the messiah be gay like me?”
That being said, imagine what a different world it might have been if Jesus actually had been gay — openly so. The Christian doctrine of imitatio Christi, the imitation of Christ, would have required millions of heterosexual believers to take homosexuality upon themselves. The Crusades would have brought sodomy to the holy land. The Spanish Inquisition would have burned straight people at the stake for perversion. Churches would have become gay cruising grounds and confessionals would likely have been outfitted with glory holes. Various rituals might have evolved in astonishingly different ways. There was once a fringe Gnostic sect that used menstrual blood for wine and semen for wafer. Maybe something like that would have developed, the highest communion coming direct from the penis of the pope, who would distribute his blessings with a limp wrist.
Jesus has all of the “symptoms” of being gay…. He acted gay…hung out with men…shunned sex with females…was definitely a mama’s boy…didn’t fear being different…it just goes on and on and on. If you think that it sounds wrong, perhaps you don’t understand his message. Read his words (not the Bible…The book of Timothy) If you read his words with the mindset of a gay man, then you see his perspective. If you read his words as “right-winger” then you get a different perspective. Gay or not? Only his male sex partners know for sure. I can act like a dog and bark - but that doesn’t make me a dog.

I don;t think it would;ve had sutch an impact. You say christianity would have been more sexual if Jesus had been gay, but why? Why would the pope’s semen be holy if it isn;t now? You say the crusaders would have brought sodomy to the holy land; The chance that that would;ve happened is just as big as the crusaders raping woman with a straight Jesus. Besides, you’re talking about the middle-ages. If it turns out that Jesus was gay NOW, the only effect would be that christianity would be kinder to gays. But knowing their pih-headedness, that won’t be true either.
I think in any time period, resting your head on another man’s chest is pretty gay. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
HP - The crusaders DID rape women, AFAIK. But I agree with you that Jesus’ sexual orientation probably didn’t have anything to do with it - it’s not like the Crusaders were claiming to be imitating him when they gang-raped Saracen teenagers, it was just one of the perks of military life at the time.
how does the chuch feel abouta mother sleeping with her son i love taking my 76 year old mother to mass my mother wearing a miniskirt garters nylons 6″ high heels her huge juggs floping all over we sit in the back so my mother can smoke

as for jesus being gay i think he was getting it from both his deciples and mary magdelan.
so i think at the very least the ’son of god’ (or so he apparently said) was bi sexual.
