I can’t believe someone would do this to their own daughter. And then make their son watch it. That’s terrible. She should die the same way or worse. Hludens…actually, the kid was 5′9″ and 240 pounds. Her mom isn’t fat at all, only about 5′6″ and 140 pounds. Jasmine was a lot bigger but her mother overpowered her somehow (maybe because she was so pissed off). And she wasn’t suffocated or smothered to death. She choked on her own vomit after having acid bleach poured down her throat.

Carolynn is right. This story is being featured in Seventeen magazine, which is geared to a mostly young female demographic (duh). Jasmine Archie’s case is a particularly sad story because this was a young girl from a rough inner-city section of Alabama, an absent father, a paranoid schizophrenic mother who is also a former crack addict. More than likely she was either raped by her mom’s married lover who behaved inappropriately towards the busty 6th grader…or if she did have sex willingly with somebody, it was an attempt to find the love and attention she didn’t have at home. Jasmine matured exceptionally early, a fairly common occurence among African-American girls, and I suppose older males wouldn’t have believed that this tall, overweight girl was only 12.

Her mom had abused both Jasmine & her brother before. They weren’t allowed to play or to have friends over. Jasmine would get hit with an extension cord sometimes. They lived from hand to mouth, barely surviving on stale milk. Tunisia Archie exhibited behavior that could only be called “strange” by her neighbors. She wore a puffy coat with the collar turned up in swelteringly hot summers. Once, she sat outside on the front lawn while the lightening flashed & rain poured. She brought strange men into her home constantly…not very careful or responsible, considering she had a young female child there who looked very mature. Jasmine had plenty of friends at school, however, and was remembered as “kind” and “shy”. Despite the trauma of her abusive home, despite her height and weight, she was a normal kid who liked kid stuff. She was heavy, awkward, and because she wore thick glasses, she thought she wasn’t as pretty as her classmates.

She liked R & B music, cartoons, and teddy bears. She loved playing with her little brother. She defended her mom to a social worker when Tunisia Archie was suspected of not caring for the kids. Understandably, a parent would be shocked or even upset to discover that their kid may have had sex, especially at 12 years old. However, it is uncertain whether Jasmine willingly had sex or whether it was forced on her. We will never know the identity of the person she claimed to have had sex with. Maybe she was protecting someone out of fear. We will never know the “who’s” or “why’s” of this sad story. Young girls like Jasmine are often victims of violence, poverty, rape, incest, abuse, and murder. All we know is that this little girl from a poor Black community died at the hands of her sadistic mother and nothing justifies this. Certainly not losing her virginity, however that happened. She didn’t even have a proper funeral, she was buried in an unmarked grave in “potter’s field”, which is basically a plot for the poor. No family or friends came to say farewell. No flowers or stuffed toys were brought there. There remains no memory of this child and that is so sad. At least other children who have been brutally murdered, whether by a family member or complete stranger, are remembered. May her soul rest in peace.

I would love to to personally pour bleach down her throut and set an anvil on her chest. I then would say over and over that she had lost her virginity to make her children. Then, five minutes after she was dead I’d happily go to a resturaunt and eat food, and buy for all, with absolutely no guilt plagueing my conscious. This story is so awful, so disgusting. This girl trusted her mum enough to tell her she had sex, wow. First of all i believe she should be locked in a cold wet cell where the floors are made of sewing needles so every time she had to get up she had to walk across these needles to either use the toilet( i’d give her the benefit of the toilet so it gives her even more reason to have to walk across the needle)..now im not an evil person but thats just horendous. and SANCHO, you always need to have this type of torture inflicted upon you, and u’ll probably die a slow death of aids and other sexually transmitted diseases.

I can’t help but think that the mother wasn’t insane but was highly religious type, or perhaps both.

There are parts of the world where women are often killed for having sex, even if they’ve been raped. They’re called honor killings. Often the police don’t even look into it in these countries and the male family member who does it is often looked at as a hero by the community.

Never under estimate the ability of religion to totally fuck with people’s heads.

I didn’t become aware of this case until a long time after the fact, when I read it in “Seventeen” magazine. I saw the blurb on the cover about a mother killing her daughter for having sex, and I just had to pick it up and read.

All I can say is, the insanity defense won’t work here. This isn’t like snapping someone’s neck (or shooting them) in a fit of rage — it takes premeditation and presence of mind to overpower someone, and then pour bleach down their throat. Her admission that she “sat on [Jasmine’s] chest until she stopped breathing” proves beyound a reasonable doubt that she knew EXACTLY what she was doing.

Too bad Jasmine didn’t (or couldn’t) fight back — we all know that being 100 pounds lighter ends the fight in about three seconds. She could have killed her mother in self-defense with her bare hands, or simply dropped ass on her ribcage, crushing it.

It’s worth noting that the instructions on almost every bottle of bleach (and other cleaning products) contain the language: “It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.” Tunisia’s use of the bleach as an instrument of death, makes her guilty of capital murder.

If there is any justice in this world, Tunisia Archie will get the death penalty. She should be chained up and burned WHILE SHE IS STILL ALIVE, and then have her remains pissed and shit on, by any and all people who choose to do so.

She does sound like a really horrible woman. Her daughter should have fought back more, maybe slap the bleach from her mother’s hand, and push her mother really hard on the floor, while running out of the house, and going to a neighbor’s house or some other safe place and calling the police. That is if she did not kill her mother in self-defense. What she (the mother) did was really horrible, but it was worse that she told the younger brother, a kid, that if he sheds a tear, after being forced to watch the whole thing, that she would kill him, in addition to what she did. Why would she make the girl’s little brother watch, and then threaten to kill him if he cried? This woman is completely insane!

After reading this article and everyone’s input I’ve found that almost everyone’s thoughts are as sick or even more sick than this womans, at least she was mentally ill, the rest of you are just sadistic on your own. Perhaps if you guys met this woman you would be won by her other many cruel ways to hurt people, since that’s something you people enjoy in detail.

Jason, I like how you talk about the law as if you knew anything about it. You have no idea what constitutes predetermined murder and it’s certainly not what you described.

I have to say that if my 12 year old daughter declarded to me that she willingly and happily gave away her virginity, I’d kill her too. Then I’d kill the rest of my family, the guy that boned her, then I’d finally kill myself. But of course, I am most certifiablly crazy.
